Chinese New Year 2027: our factory closure dates and the last dates to order
Chinese New Year falls on 6 February 2027. Our factory closes on 29 January and reopens on 20 February. These are the dates that matter, and what they mean for an order you are planning now.

The dates
| Date | |
|---|---|
| New-mould orders: latest confirmation | 1 November 2026 |
| Repeat orders on an existing mould: latest confirmation | Depends on the quantity — ask us |
| Last shipment before the holiday | 25 January 2027 |
| Factory closed | 29 January – 19 February 2027 |
| Chinese New Year's Day | 6 February 2027 |
| Back at work, production restarts | 20 February 2027 |
Why the new-mould date is so early
A new mould takes about 50 working days from the frozen drawing to loading — roughly ten calendar weeks. Our article on the tooling timeline shows where those days go. From 1 November to the last shipment on 25 January there are about 60 working days: the 50 for the project, plus a margin for one more round of corrections.
The date assumes the drawing is final and the colour is approved quickly. A change after tooling has started moves the whole programme, and in this case it moves it past the holiday.
Repeat orders: it depends on the quantity
On an existing mould with an approved colour, a repeat order can ship in 7–12 working days at the fastest, and larger quantities take longer. That is why there is no single cut-off: a small top-up can still fit in January, a full container may not. Send us the model and the quantity, and we will give you the latest date for that order.
- Confirm the colour and the packaging artwork with the order, not after it.
- Do not change either once the order is placed — a change puts the order back in the queue.
Shipping before the holiday
Our last shipment leaves on 25 January. The weeks before the holiday are the busiest of the year for forwarders and inspectors, so:
- Book container space early.
- Book the pre-shipment inspection early enough to leave time to fix anything it finds.
- Have the commercial documents and any certificates ready before loading, not after.
If you miss the dates
Orders that cannot ship by 25 January go into production after we reopen on 20 February. Workers return gradually after the holiday, so allow some time for output to get back to normal.
The weeks before the holiday are still useful. Send the drawings now: the drawing review can be done before we close, so tooling starts when we reopen instead of waiting for it.
Selling for Ramadan in 2027?
Ramadan is expected to begin around 8 February 2027 — two days after Chinese New Year. Goods for Ramadan and Eid have to leave before our holiday, not after it. Our Ramadan and Eid article has the timeline for Gulf buyers.
